Visiting scholars Wen Yan and Xu Jian, researchers with the Center for China Studies, joined Michelle Eisenstein (Coordinator for International & Exchange Programs) for a visit to a 3rd grade class at Buffalo Public School's Frederick Law Olmsted #64. Wen Yan dressed in a traditional Chinese silk dress and Xu Jian wore a silk jacket. Students were excited to learn facts about China while having the opportunity to taste Wen Yan's homemade dumplings. The scholars enjoyed teaching them how to fold origami bunnies and appreciated the eager nature of the children as they asked questions about Chinese traditions and customs. Each student was able to take home a traditional Chinese trinket to remember this special event.
